LAGOS WARNS ITS RESIDENTS AGAINST FRAUDSTERS

The Director-General of the Lagos State Safety Commission, Lanre Mojola, has warned Lagosians against the activities of fraudsters parading themselves as workers of the commission.

Mojola, who decried the activities of fraudsters while addressing members of officials of the commission on Thursday, urged members of the public to disregard any purported summons, abatement notices and seal orders.

He said the commission was undergoing restructuring aimed at repositioning itself for improved service delivery in line with the commission’s law.

Mojola said, “The Lagos State Safety Commission hereby dissociates itself from such persons or group of persons who have branded their vehicles, forged the commission’s official letterhead, abatement notices and some paraphernalia worn by officials of Lagos State Safety Commission.

“Anyone found using the commission’s logo to carry out unofficial duties will be arrested and prosecuted in line with relevant laws of Lagos State as security personnel have been contracted to carry out such directives.”

He, however, urged members of the public to channel their complaints and enquiries to Lagos State Safety Commission.
